MEDICAL CANNABIS COURSE – for healthcare professionals
A two-day, integrative, evidence-based course on medical cannabis and its safe, ethical, and effective use in clinical practice. Open to medical doctors, veterinarians, pharmacists, phytotherapists and traditional herbalists. No previous experience with medical cannabis required. Limited to 30 delegates, with 6 tickets allocated to each profession.
DATE: 21 & 22 November 2020
VENUE: River Club Conference Centre, Cape Town.
SCHEDULE: Saturday 9am-5pm; Sunday 9am-3pm
AIM:
To present what healthcare professionals need to know about medical cannabis. Empowering healthcare professionals to make sound clinical decisions; provide informed advice and education; support quality products and ethical enterprises; collaborate on essential research; and promote local and national policies that nurture the health and wellbeing of our communities, and the planet too. This course will be followed by further courses on herbal medicine for healthcare professionals.
TOPICS:
Subjects covered include: history of use, legalities, botany, self-medication, traditional medicine, genetics, phytochemistry, pharmacology, side-effects, safety and toxicity, preparations, research, cultivation, economics. Therapeutics will include: first-aid use, primary healthcare, anxiety, pain, anorexia, nausea and vomiting, glaucoma, epilepsy, rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, ADHD and ASD, CNS trauma, neoplasia, and neurodegenerative disorders including MS.
APPROACH:
– Integrative – presenting both the traditional wisdom and modern science of cannabis as medicine.
– Best-evidence based – including published research, clinical experience, and traditional knowledge.
– Collaborative – delegates with knowledge and expertise are encouraged to contribute.

Join Canna-Hub in partnership with Bean Bank and Grow With Us Club for a series of interactive Grow workshops covering everything you need to know from seed to harvest.

We’ll kick off with the Cannabis Beginners workshop on the 21st of November at our friends Coffee to Grow. This class will cover an overview of cannabis basic, its life cycle and the many ways in which it can be grown. We’ll have time for questions and a practical demo on how to pop beans with our secret weapon, Biodyne. Each person will get a one-on-one session to discuss their grow with one of our Cannabis Experts and you’ll go home with your very own plant. We’ll be joined by @GrowlikeAz to do a practical demo showcasing how to transplant your seed into your grow bag or jiffy and how he gets his famous germination rates using Biodyne solution. He’ll be sharing his tips and trick on the day. Don’t miss this germinating wizard at work.
